Poly Lumber Outdoor Furniture: Why this "wood" rocks!

If you've been shopping recently for outdoor furniture you've probably heard the term "Poly lumber" or "Poly wood" passed around. So what the heck is this stuff anyway if it's not real wood?
Poly lumber is actually, to some customer's surprise, made from 100% recycled milk jugs and detergent bottles (HDPE plastics). Not to worry if you're a neat freak.... all are thoroughly washed and decontaminated before it is processed and UV inhibitors are added before it's transformed into that beautiful adirondack chair. Not to mention that same adirondack chair saved 500 jugs from going to the landfill!
2. A long WARRANTY
Poly lumber may be more of an initial investment then wood, but with warranties ranging from 20 years to lifetime you can have piece of mind that it may even be the last outdoor set you'll ever have to purchase.
3. Bright COLORS.
They are available in a variety of different colors, with the pigment running all the way thru so repainting or refinishing will never be necessary.
4. VERY little Maintenance
Poly furniture is maintenance free – really. It doesn’t fade, crack, or splinter even in the harshest environments including sun & salt water and its composition resists mold and mildew. The best part comes when it's time to clean it!
4 Tips and suggestions for cleaning poly furniture:
Cleaning is best done on warm, dry days.
If the day is extremely warm, it is recommended to do your cleaning in the shade. This will prevent soap and scum from quickly drying on your furniture before you have a chance to rinse it.
Most outdoor cushions can be cleaned with the same process as the regular cleaning recommendations, using a soap and water solution. Always check the manufacturer’s recommendations before cleaning begins.
A high pressure power washer can also be used, however it is suggested that a fan tip is used and power washers should not be more than 1,500 psi for this purpose.
